Artist's Comments

This is a painting I made a while back, like a year ago or less. It's called life cuz it has a lot to do with life, and lots of things that relate to it. Things like gears, a heart with wings (love), a human outline, and other randow stuff. You might notice a wierd design all around the piece, and that's made from a banana tree trunk. Well, I don't really have much else to say about it, but if you have any questions, g'head and ask! And feel free to comment as always! :D

i love this
the banana tree trunk design is fascinating
i love the hidden images of the heart and the overall darkness of it, and how the heart has some white around it, a sort of "silver lining." it all creates this whole "bittersweet" feeling which really applies so well to the title of the piece.

This is awesome. I keep seeing random faces looking out at me, so this piece could be a interpretation of what life is essentially composed of-- I'm sure what you meant to convey in the first place-- so it's really cool. Life, and people, are made up of flying-hearts, cogs, and banana trunks. I can't help but think that each of those three things represents one of the three composing elements of humans: Banana trunk = body; Cog(s) = mind; Heart w/ wings = spirit/soul.

You probably didn't mean for this representation to take place, but I spose that's cuz it's just my interpretation... :hmm: Either way, I love this, man. It's awesome; very well done. I can see why you're art teacher has the hots for you... :giggle:

oh yeah he sure does. Thanks alot DJ, I'm glad you like it! :giggle: I never meant for the benana trunk to mean body, but now that I think about it, I like it. The cogs and winged heart are meant exactly as you said though.

Thank you! :bow: That's kool that you like it so much and thanks a bajillion for the :+fav: Yeah I was really trying to do a dark piece because I was mad at my dad for making me cut down the banana tree and he had gotten mad at me somehow, but yeah it paid off in the end, I got a kool piece! :D
